SSC CPO Selection Process 2024
In order to select the candidates, the recruitment board follows a scheme of examination which consists of these stages. Those candidates who clear these four rounds are finally selected.
- Paper-I
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Or
- (Physical Endurance Test (PET)
- Paper-II
- Medical Examination

Medical Standard (For all CPO Posts)

| Note: For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, above clauses on tattoos are not applicable. |
SSC CPO Medical Examination 2024
Candidates who qualify in Paper-II will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPF’s/ any other Medical Officer/ Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary.
Note: Candidates, who are found unfit in SSC CPO Medical Eligibility 2024, they can make an appeal before “Review Medical Board” within the prescribed time limit, which is generally 15 days. Further decision of the RE-Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal against the decision of the Re-Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be accepted.
After, medical examination, finally, selected candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector would, as part of training curriculum, have to pass seven events as mentioned below, failing which they may not be retained in the Force.
- Jumping over the Vertical Board
- Holding the rope on jumping from the Board
- Tarzan Swing
- Jumping on the Horizontal Board
- Parallel Rope
- Monkey Crawl
- Vertical Rope.

Admission Certificate/ Admit Card for the examination for each of the candidates is published on the official SSC, one week before the date of examination. The recruitment board does not send “SSC CPO SI Medical Admit Card” by post.
