4. World’s tallest hotel opens in Dubai higher 100m taller than previous

  • The world’s tallest hotel Gevora has opened in Dubai which stands at 356 meters having 528 rooms.
  • The new hotel is higher than the previous record holder the JW Mariott Marquis (also in Dubai) and 50m higher than the very famous skyscraper Shard standing at 309m.
  • Dubai is also home to the world’s tallest building, which stands at 828 meters.
5. India wins the First ODI in South Africa

  • After 25 years the Indian Cricket team has received the long-awaited ODI series triumph on South African soil that came after six tours.
  • Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to win an ODI series in South Africa.
  • Currently the Indian Cricket team is ranked No 1 in ODIs.
