2. Historic significance of Utakala Divas celebrated on Odisha Day

Major Highlights:

  • The date of April 1st every year is celebrated as the Odisha Day which back in April 1, 1936 became a separate province.
  • Odisha Day, also known as Utkal Divas and Utkala Dibasa is celebrated in the memory of struggle done to be separated from the Bengal and Bihar.
  • In the records of history, Kharavela’s rule is also for laying the foundation for Orissa’s fame as a land of art, architecture and sculpture.

3. Ashok Gehlot made Congress organization in-charge
