1. Kerala tops the Health Index report
Major Highlights:
- In the Health Index report released by the Niti Ayog Kerala has topped the health index while Uttar Pradesh appeared at the bottom.
- Besides Kerala other large states maintaining the top list were Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
- However the states that followed poor ranking were Rajasthan, Bihar and Odisha.
- Also in terms of the annual incremental performance ranking in the large states Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh were top three while in small states Mizoram was first, followed by Manipur and Goa.
2. Indra Nooyi appointed first independent female director of ICC Board as
Major Highlights:
- PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi has been appointed to the International Cricket Council as the first Independent Female director.
- She will be joining the board in June 2018.
- The independent director is appointed for a two-year term period however she can be re-appointed for two further terms with a maximum six-year consecutive period of service.
3. 11th Food World India convention for food business and industry started in New Delhi
Major Highlights:
- The 11th Food World India has started in India where the inauguration was done by the Commerce and Industries Minister Suresh Prabhu.
- The event is being organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
- The FICCI in the last 17years have been able to attract 7.5BN$ as announced by the Chairman Sanjay Sharma.
4. Power Minister launches mobile app for fly ash utilization
Major Highlights:
- Power Minister R K Singh today launched a web-based monitoring system and a fly-ash mobile application to keep interaction between the producers and consumers.
- At present, 63 per cent of the fly ash is being utilized.
- The platform has been provided to enable better management of the ash produced by thermal power plants yp prove interface between fly ash producers (thermal Power Plants) and potential ash users such as road contractors, cement plants etc
5. Khelo India School Games Concludes; Haryana tops
Major Highlights:
- The Khelo India School Level games being organized in Delhi concluded in which Haryana topped in winning medals.
- Haryana won 120 medals comprising of 38 gold and 26 silver.
- Maharashtra finished second wining 110 while Delhi managed third position winning 98 medals
