1. Prof Muhammad Yunus conferred KISS Humanitarian Award

2. Bangabandhu Satellite, Bangladesh’s most powerful satellite released

Major Highlights:

  • SpaceX has launched Bangladesh’s maiden high-orbit communications satellite called Bangabandhu Satellite-1.
  • It is named after Bangladesh’s “Father of the Nation”- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
  • So far, the communication of Bangladesh was based on rented transponders from India. But now, it will make Bangladesh autonomous, in terms of telecommunications and broadcasting services.
3. Fitch, India’s growth to accelerate to 7.3% in next fiscal

  • The rating agency Fitch has said that India’s Economic growth will be 0.2 percent high i.e. 7.5% in the next fiscal year.
  • According to Fitch, India’s ratings balance a strong medium-term growth outlook and favourable external balances against a weak fiscal position and difficult business environment.

4. India defeat Japan in Women’s Asian Champions Trophy

  • In the Hockey event of 5th Women’s Asian Champions Trophy, India defeated Japan by 4-1.
