2. ACI projects India as second fastest growing country for air passenger traffic
Major Highlights:
- The Airports Council International has projected India to be the second fastest growing country in the world for air passenger traffic.
- According to the reports released by ACI, India has been put next to Vietnam having a growth rate of 7.5%.
- In its traffic forecasts in its traffic forecasts ACI said that by 2022 passenger traffic in emerging economies like India will surpass advanced economies.
3. Indian and Malaysian armies begin Exercise Harimau Shakti 2018
Major Highlights:
- In army troops of Indian and Malaysian troops have started ‘Exercise Harimau Shakti 2018’ in Kuala Lumpur.
- It is the first ever joint Army exercise between the armies of India and Malaysia.
- Exercise Harimau will be a two-week long exercise honing tactical and technical skills in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations.

4. Government launches Pilot Scheme
Major Highlights:
- The Government of India has launched pilot scheme to procure 2500 MW electricity.
- Under the scheme, power companies will be taken under term agreement on competitive basis for three years without power purchase agreements (PPA).
- In nutshell, under the scheme generators will be commissioned projects but without Power Purchase Agreement.
5. Belgrade International Boxing, Indian players strike gold
Major Highlights:
- In the Belgrade International Boxing Tournament, India ended winning gold, five silver and five bronze medals.
- The gold medals were clinched by Sumit Sangwan (91kg), Nikhat Zareen (51kg), Himanshu Sharma (49kg) in their respective boxing categories.
- The Belgrade International Boxing Tournament is being held in Serbia.
