1. Odisha gets ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Vikash’ yojana
Major Highlights:
- The chief minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the scheme “Ama gaon, Ama Vikash” yojana.
- The yojana directly connects the panchayat level people through video conferencing for discussions regarding investment and funding which will be held twice a week.
- Naveen Patnaik is the 14th Chief Minister of Odisha.
2. Aircraft lands at Pakyong airport, creates history
Major Highlights:
- The landing of the first fixed Dornier 228 aircraft of Indian Air Force creates history as it lands on the newly constructed Pakyoung Airport in Sikkim.
- The Pakyong Airport in Sikkim has been constructed near Gangtok in Pakyong which is first ever in the state.
- Starting of aircraft landings is the beginning of aviation connectivity for Sikkim.
3. ISSF World Cup: Manu Bhaker shoots gold, bronze for Ravi Kumar
Major Highlights:
- In the event of ISSF World Cup the 16year old Manu Bhaker clinched gold by defeating twice world cup winner Alejandra Zavala.
- From the men’s section Ravi Kumar managed could clinch bronze.
- At the end of the competition, the total numbers was 5 with 2golds and three bronze.
- The ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) 2018 was held at Guadalajara in Mexico.
4. Viswanathan Anand wins Tal Memorial Rapid Chess
Major Highlights:
- World rapid champion Viswanathan Anand recently clinched Tal Memorial rapid chess title.
- The game was won after playing the final match against Boris Gelfand of Israel.
- This is the second world title of champion Anand after World Rapid Title won in Riyadh just over two months ago.
