1. PM Modi to introduce Gobar Dhan Yojna

Major Highlights:

  • On Sunday in the radio program “Mann ki Baat” Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year the budget will be focused on “Waste to wealth and Waste to energy”.
  • The focus will be executed under ‘Gobar Dhan Yojana’ to keep villages clean and generate income and energy out of compost waste.
  • To regulate the scheme an online trading platform will be setup which will connect farmers and buyers.
2. DRDO successfully tests Rustom-2 UAV

Major Highlights:

  • The Defence Research and Development Organization successfully tested Rustom-2 UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).
  • This is the high power engine UAV came 7 years after the Rustom 1.
  • It is designed to replace the Heron UAVs which is currently in service with the Indian armed forces.
3. Aruna Reddy bagged bronze in World Gymnastics

Major Highlights:

  • In the event of World Gymnastics Aruna Reddy managed to win third title with a score of 13.648.
  • This l is India’s first medal in Gymnastic World Cup for which she was praised by the President Ram Nath Kovind.
  • Other than Aruna, another Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak finished at the sixth spot with a score of 13.416.
4. Mayank Agarwal makes history

Major Highlights:

  • In the event of Vijay Hazare Trophy Mayak Agardwal from Karnataka made the history by scoring 633 runs in seven innings.
  • He broke the record of Dinesh Karthik of scoring 607 runs last year at the same venue.
  • Mayank now tops the list of scoring highest runs in the list of 6 batsmen who have scored over 500 runs.
5. Indian women Cricket team clinches T20 series

Major Highlights:

  • In the fifth and final Twenty20 International against South Africa the team achieved its victory by 3-1.
  • The match held in Cape Town was won by India after scoring 166 for four in 20overs while bowling out South Africa for 112 in 18 overs.
