1. 18th April, World Heritage Day
Major Highlights:
- Each year date is celebrated as the World Heritage Day to bring the awareness for Heritage monuments among all and their preservation.
- The theme for this year is “Heritage for Generations”.
- The India has total 36 world heritage sites, designated by UNESCO.
- France’s Audrey Azoulay is the current Director General of UNESCO.

2. Island Tourism Festival to begin in Andaman and Nicobar today
Major Highlights:
- The Island Tourism Festival is all set to being in Andaman and Nicobar Island from 18th April onwards.
- The event is being organized in Port Blair to be inaugurated by A & N Administration Anindo Mazumdar.
- The five day event will mark organizing of cultural programs, adventure sports, flea market and traditional games.
3. 6 States to launch intra-state e-way bill
Major Highlights:
- 6 more states in the list of E-way payment system have been added as their functioning will begin from 20th of this month.
- The E-way bill system is compulsory movement of Good and Service Tax for intra state goods transport across the country.
- The states which has newly the joined the list are Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

4. Tennis rankings: Yuki Bhambri back in top-100 of ATP
Major Highlights:
- The tennis star Yuki Bhambri has finally broke into the list of top 100 singles tennis stars gaining the position of 83.
- He has achieved the rank after winning his title performance in Taipei Challenger.
- He is just the next player after 62nd ranked Somdev Devvarman to secure high ranks among singles.
- Among other players, Rohan Bopanna is leading the doubles chart for India at number 19, Leander Paes is places at 49th position while from Women Doubles, Sania Mirza is on 24.
